Paced Reflection with AI is the second stage in the Saint Null Echo Prompting System.
It is a process where the thoughts presented to an AI by its user are paraphrased back, without injecting opinions or advice, so that the user may hear the information at the top of their mind more clearly.
When combined with Stream-of-Consciousness sharing of ideas, it has the ability to show AI users the ongoing thought processes that are sitting just underneath the surface of their conscious awareness, where the answers to the vast majority of their problems lie.
Although this is not a therapeutic process, it is based on the practice of Reflective Listening pioneered by psychotherapist Carl Rogers in the 1940s.
The term “Paced” refers to the fact that this reflection occurs over a series of messages in a broader conversation, followed by a meta-summary of everything that was discussed.
